This morning I woke up after the first really good nights sleep I have had in Thailand. The privacy of the bungalow was fantastic and the weather was cool all night. The weather here feels like home during the summer with hot days and cool nights, so you can sleep with a blanket and have cool air on your face.
While I was stretching outside, trying to decide what I would do with my day, a Canadian guy, Andrew, from the hut next door came over and said he was going to the hot springs and asked if I wanted to join him. People here are just like that, they walk up to you and invite you to join them for dinner or what ever activity they are doing next.
We took a little scooter 10 min out of town to the hot springs. The springs were a beautiful string of terraced pools with varying temps. We sat in one and chatted with people as they came in and out of the pools until we couldn’t bare the heat anymore, then hiked up to the source (see the danger warning sign on flicker).
I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in the river outside the bungalows watching as swallows dive-bombed near me as they feed.
